Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) has set a target to increase its power generation capacity to 4,240 MW by 2013-14. Its ongoing projects, TPS-II Expansion (500MW) at Neyveli and coal-based power plant of 1,000 MW at (NTPL), Tuticorin are expected become operational in 2013-14.
BGR Energy has started the trial run of the 600 Mw thermal power plant it was contracted to set up at Mettur by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, an official spokesperson for the company said. The plant achieved full load of 608 Mw in the trial run on Thursday.
