Located in South India, Andhra Pradesh is the fourth largest economy in the country. At the national level, the state stands first in the generation of hydroelectric power. According to the predictions of 2007-2008, its gross state domestic product (GSDP) at constant prices is projected to record a growth of 10.37%. During the 11th Five Year Plan (2007-2012), the state is focussing on 9% annual economic growth. The state’s GSDP growth averaged 6.8% during 2002-07.
